MY OH MY! Have we got a Kids Canes for you today. We’re interviewing Hamilton the Carolina Hurricanes’ Therapy Pig, and getting an update on the Hurricanes trip to Florida.

Since we’ve got Hamilton as a guest, let’s read what he has to say about his role with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about you?

My name is Hamilton the Pig. I like to think of myself as a therapy animal for all the Carolina Hurricanes fans out there world wide. I’m a 6 year old Juliana Pot Belly Pig. I like carrots, chips, popcorn, and every other food there is (except spicy stuff… yuck). I weigh an undisclosed amount, and I live close to the PNC arena with my family.

How long have you been involved with hockey Hamilton?

2019 is when I got the call to bring the luck. Haven’t looked back since.

What drew you to the sport?

Its cold in the arena and I don’t like being hot. Skating seems fun. Hockey has a lot of nice people involved with it!

What is your favorite part about hockey?

The snacks. Any form of snacks.

What is your game day routine?

I get up, stretch, eat breakfast, nap, eat second breakfast, check all the fruit trees to see if anything fell, nap, eat lunch, eat snack, eat dinner, Eat post dinner, load up in the truck, go to the game, snack, watch the first period, take a nap in my wagon, wake up and cheer, hopefully do the storm surge after the game. Just all in a day’s work for a hockey pig.

If you had a goal song, what would it be and why?

Probably Weird Al Yankovic – Eat It.

Which current Carolina Hurricane would you most want to spend the day with and what would you do?

I would probably just hang with Stormy. Let the guys focus on their thing, but I think me and stormy could go find a nice mud puddle to roll around in. Share a basket of fruit. Maybe take a nice nap. The usual, ya know.

WOWWEEE WOW! Who couldn’t love our newest pal Hamilton? He sure is some pig! And huge Caniac!

The Hurricanes headed down to the Sunshine State games against the Tampa Bay Lighting and The Florida Panthers.

Carolina lost their first game of the weekend 5-2 against the Florida Panthers. Jesperi “KK”  Kotkaniemi and Sebastian “Fishy” Aho scored.  Antti “Father Finn” Raanta, made 30 saves.

BUT…the Hurricanes came right back and won their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Pyotr Kochetkov got his first SHUTOUT of the season. The Canes won 4-0!

Teuvo “Turbo” Teravainen scored in the 1st period. Sebastian “Fishy” Aho scored his second goal of the weekend in the second. Brent “Kit-Kat” Burns and Stefan “Nosey” Noesen scored in the 3rd!

“Turbo” Teravainen is having an awesome year so far! He has 9 goals and 1 assist and the Hurricanes have only played 15 games! Jesperi “KK”  Kotkaniemi is also playing great! He has 6 goals and 7 assist in just 15 games.
