Just when it looked like the Carolina Hurricanes would be unsuccessful at continuing their clean streak against Dallas, they turned it around in the 3rd period and walked away with yet another 2 points courtesy of the Stars.

Last night’s game has to be frustrating from the Stars’ perspective; they played a great hockey game, aside from a few missteps here and there.

Dallas have lost 7 of their last 8 games despite being a very solid, competitive team undeterred by the glaring holes left by Tyler Seguin, Ben Bishop, and Alexander Radulov.

There are plenty of things to like about last night’s game from the Canes’ perspective, but there are also plenty of things to be concerned about; the Canes blew a lead twice in the 1st and 2nd periods.

Once they were chasing the game from behind, they started making mistake after mistake and letting their play slip into the zone of sloppiness.

It would take game-tying goals from Brock McGinn and Jordan Staal, and an eventual (absolutely beautiful) game-winning goal from Nino Niederreiter to turn the Carolina Hurricanes around and right the ship, so ultimately this game ended up having a lot more good in it than bad. Here’s what I took away from it on the whole.
