The past few days for the Carolina Hurricanes have been quite stressful, yet exciting. Here is your gameday fantasy guide to a win tonight for you and for the Canes.

From emergency backup goalies winning NHL games, to some big boy trades, to say the last couple of days have been wild is an understatement.

The slue of injuries Saturday night not only made a memory that Dave Ayers and all of us will never forget, but it caused a lot of drama at the trade deadline. The Carolina Hurricanes made some big trades for some defensemen and picked up a forward as well.

But with all of that behind us, we focus on today, Game Day! Let’s take a look at who is stepping up for the Carolina Hurricanes, what’s going on in this chaotic playoff race, and what bets are good to place today.

Carolina Hurricanes Fantasy Picks:

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – FEBRUARY 08: Nino Niederreiter #21 of the Carolina Hurricanes is stopped by Henrik Lundqvist #30 of the New York Rangers during the first period at Madison Square Garden on February 08, 2019 in New York City. (Photo by Bruce Bennett/Getty Images)

3 goals and 4 points in the last 5 games! Is El Nino back? If the Canes can see the grit and the production of 2019 post-trade deadline Nino, the Metro is in for a world of hurt.

With some new trades coming in it will be interesting to see exactly where he falls in the line up tonight. More than likely centered by Staal on the 3rd line, if you ask me. Now, if this line has Justin Williams on the other side of Staal, it could be deadly.

Nino played amazing with Williams last year on his line and can hopefully replicate that in this playoff push.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – NOVEMBER 27: Martin Necas #88 of the Carolina Hurricanes skates against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on November 27, 2019 in New York City. The Rangers defeated the Hurricanes 3-2. (Photo by Bruce Bennett/Getty Images)

5 points in the last 5 games. 4 goals in the last 8 games. Martin Necas is also on a very quiet pace for over 45 points on the season. HE’S A ROOKIE!

I mean, come on guys, this is a guy to have on your team at all times. He is becoming just as important and productive as the SAT line. Which, by the way, you should already have and always start.

Necas is also a centerpiece of the 2nd powerplay unit, which has been doing vastly better at scoring, so watch out for some bonus points tonight.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – NOVEMBER 27: Warren Foegele #13 of the Carolina Hurricanes skates against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on November 27, 2019 in New York City. The Rangers defeated the Hurricanes 3-2. (Photo by Bruce Bennett/Getty Images)

4 points in the last 5 games as well! There looks to be a pattern appearing. If Warren Foegele and Nino can play like they did in the playoffs for the Canes, they might not lose again. Ever.

We were also on a Foegele hat-trick watch for almost the whole third period Saturday night. That’s pretty wild. There is still more to come, he has not yet hit his ceiling.

Canes Playoff Push

As of this morning, the Carolina Hurricanes sit outside of the playoffs by 2 points because Columbus just had to go and win last night. Luckily, there is a ton of hockey left, and no team above us has a game in hand on us.

So for tonight, in order of importance as Caniacs, we should cheer for:

Canes > Stars

Wild > Blue Jackets (in regulation)

Rangers > Isles (in regulation)

Sharks > Flyers

Jets > caps

Coyotes > Panthers

This game seems to be pretty deadlocked, according to the odds. Who knows what will happen after that wild trade deadline yesterday? A lot of people are saying if the Carolina Hurricanes didn’t win the deadline, they finished in the Top 3.
