Carolina Hurricanes: The Perfect Holiday Gifts for the Coaches and Staff!
The Carolina Hurricanes are going into the holiday season on a high note. That means it is time to start picking out gifts for our favorite Coaches and Staff Members!
It is the season of giving folks! That’s right, regardless of what you wish to believe in this winter month there is some gift giving going around. That means it is time for to gift our favorite Coaches and Staff with exactly what they want this season before the new years is rung in. That means figuring out exactly what they want.
But what do you get the players who have everything? Well a Stanley Cup win doesn’t hurt but we can’t get to that until the summer. So what can we get them between now and the end of the Holidays? Turns out there is plenty to get our favorite Hurricanes Coaches and Staff Members.
You read that right, as we only confer towards what the Coaches and Staff will get this holiday season, feel free to go back and read what we are getting our forwards, our defenders, or our goalies! After all, everyone deserves something this holiday season. So what would we get our esteemed coaches and staff members? Glad you asked, let’s find out together!
Rod Brind’Amour: A Chance to to Get on the Ice
Let’s be honest, there are tons of coaches that watch their teams struggle and swear under their breath that they can do a better job if only they could get the chance to get out there themselves. For about 99% of them, that concept is laughable at best. Rod Brind’Amour is part of the 1% that can actually go out there, take face off draws and probably play as well as most of the guys.
So for this Holiday season we are going to give Rod the gift of a second lifetime. The chance to go back out there for the Carolina Hurricanes and lead the team to victory from somewhere other than behind the bench. Now how we will make that happen, is quite unknown. After all, other than the Alumni game, there isn’t much opportunity for him.
Maybe we can combine alumni games with another team? That would be a sight to see.
Bill Burniston : A Quicker Timetable to the New Training Facility
Not many teams’ head strength and conditioning coach is not only well known, but a fan favorite among the team’s fans. Bill “Billy” Burniston, the man in charge of turning the Carolina Hurricanes all into ‘Rod the Bod’ clones might just be the only one. So for this Holiday season we are going out of our way to get a gift that is already on its way to him, so much faster.
We are talking about the new Wake Competition Center that will serve as the Carolina Hurricanes new practice facility that comes with a massive weight lifting room right off the ice. The boys will be able to get their pump in right before and after hitting the ice. Maybe sometimes in between too. Think of all the gains.
So let’s get our hard hats out and go help finish that facility. As soon as we can get our contracting permits and would you look at that, already on a mandated lunch break.
John Forslund and Tripp Tracey: NHL 21 Game Calling
Do you ever get someone a gift and it’s really for you? Perhaps a massive cake that you know they will need your help to finish or for the adults here, special underwear for the spouse? We have all done it in some way shape or form. That is what this gift is.
While it might feel like cheating to lump together both the Legendary John Forslund and Tripp Tracey, this gift is big enough for the both of them. And it has to be both of them. The next NHL video game will be soon hitting the shelfs almost as quickly as the season ends and a Stanley Cup Champion is named. For this next iteration, it is time to put these two in the game.
Even if it has to be its own option, I do not care, we are putting John Forslund and Tripp Tracey in the game. Complete with Taco Bell takes. Complete with inappropriate
phrases uttered by both of them for any game played past 9pm eastern. Complete with every confusing cliche used by Tripp and every glorious “Hey, Hey, Waddya Say!” announced by Forslund. You know you want it.
Don Waddell: His Number Unblocked from the Other GM’s Phones
The League might be in a roster freeze right now, but as soon as the new year kicks off, the Carolina Hurricanes and Don Waddell will be looking to make this roster the best it can be. That said, it would help if he can actually reach the other GMs in the league.
After fleecing the Wild for Nino Niederreiter, pulling in James Reimer for the Cap Space that would have been Scott Darling, and even landing Erik Haula, I wouldn’t blame the rest of the league if they agreed that conversations to Waddell would be limited to face to face conversations that were mandated by the league.
So for this Holiday season we are going to hack into every GM’s phone and rename Waddell’s number to “Free Pizza (not Papa Johns)” and unblock him from their phones. Give it a week or two and we will have the extra help this team needs to make another deep run into the playoffs!
Tom Dundon: An Outdoor Game
What do you get a Billionaire for the holidays? That’s a tough question. For some its a car that doesn’t get its windows broken. For others it’s a way to go back in time and delete a whole movie from happening so that your new movie isn’t 50% attempting to fix that old movie. For Tom Dundon, its an outdoor game at Carter Finley for his Carolina Hurricanes.

Of all the gifts on this lift, this might be the one and only one that might actually happen in time to be considered around the holidays. At least an NHL announcement of some kind. This is the sort of gift that keeps giving however, as it would be a gift for all the wonderful Caniacs that deserve a wonderful Holiday season.
Now there are tons more coaches, staff, and other members of the Carolina Hurricanes, But we cannot realistically cover them all, so tell you what, go into the comment section of wherever you find this article, or down below and give a Holiday shoutout to any Carolina Hurricane employee that deserves to get one for making your season special and lets make their holiday season equally special!
