Carolina Hurricanes: 5 players most likely to be traded this summer
Even though we know Victor Rask has the talent to be a top six forward in the league, he has trouble reaching that level on any sort of consistent basis. Rask did play in 71 games, the least of any individual season in his four year career to date.
It’s unclear who would be interested in Rask if he were made available on the trade market. But, the Canes have minimized his role during the course of the 2017-18 regular season. Rask was scratched a few times this season, mainly used as a motivation tactic by Peters.
Yet, Rask is still the type of scorer that could produce 40-50 points easily per season. Finishing seven points shy of Ryan’s total is something that Rask should really use to motivate him during the off-season.
The consistent effort has to be there for Rask to make the most of his high ceiling in the league. He’s still young, at 25-years-old, and also still has a ton of room for growth. Rask’s future could still be bright with the Canes too, but the relationship between him and the organization seem to have distanced in 2017-18.
