It’s Sunday once again folks, and today we have the day off from watching the Carolina Hurricanes.  So why not relax, sit back, and enjoy some of these stories we’ve gathered just for you.

Well, the home game winning streak ended this week with the Carolina Hurricanes shootout loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday.  But the team rebounded and won in the shootout against Buffalo the very next night.  And while the win streak is over, the Hurricanes in their last nine games at home accumulated at least a point.  They also won eight of those nine games as well so all in all Carolina’s performance in the PNC this year has impressed with a 9-3-1 record.  Now if they could do something about that 4-8-6 record on the road they’d be in business.  Still, though the fifth-placed Flyers win streak finally stopped last night as well and the Hurricanes have two games in hand.  It’s not enough to overcome the gap, but if the Hurricanes can win those it will make things interesting.  Ok then on to the links!

The first article we start with is a report on some financial wheeling and dealings of the Carolina

Hurricanes.  I’m not really sure what this means for the franchise so I’m not even going to attempt to describe it as bad or good.  But it is news relating to the franchise, and I feel obligated to report it to the fans.  Maybe someone with some financial background can Tweet me with some info on what it all means.

The next piece is one I find extremely interesting.  Yes, you guessed it, a story about Frank Stallone.  Wait, no that’s not right, I mean it’s a story about a new type of statistical analysis.  Wow, somehow our readers are emailing me before I even publish this piece telling me they’d rather read about Frank Stallone.  Well, too bad FrankStallonesNo.1Fan@gmail.com it’s not happening!

Moving on, wait I’m getting a tweet here:

Ok people, I am not writing an article, nor do I have one to share about Frank Stallone!  Man news travels fast. I never knew Frank Stallone was still this popular maybe I should look into writing an article about him.  Anyways let’s get back to hockey and move on to the next link.

Our next story is from Canes Chatter a blog writing about all things Carolina Hurricanes related.  They claim the Hurricanes need hold a playoff spot by February 1st if they want to make the playoffs. The writer has some good arguments to back it up, and good details on some of the team’s highlights.

Next up, Canes and Coffee wrote a good list of other Carolina Hurricanes sites that you should go check to get your fix of Canes news.  Every single one of these is a great place to go for content and we are not saying this at all because he mentioned us.  Nope not at all.  Seriously go check out these writers they do good stuff.

And last we have a piece from Canes Country about Victor Stalberg. The writer looks at what Stalberg’s future with the team might be.  They go through each scenario and cover all the bases.  I think the Canes flip players like Hainsey and Stalberg for picks at the deadline if the Hurricanes aren’t in the playoffs, but this article makes good arguments for resigning Stalberg to expose to the expansion draft.
