Amid a busy time in the NHL, the league released the full 2024-25 schedule. The Carolina Hurricanes previously released the 6-game pre-season schedule that concludes on Saturday, October 5th. After 6 days of rest, Carolina will host the Tampa Bay Lightning, who they play twice in the pre-season, on Friday, October 11th at PNC Arena. It will give all fans the chance to see Jake Guentzel debut in a Lightning uniform. Do with that, what you will.
The home opener will be the first of a back-to-back with Tampa Bay as Carolina will head South for the Lightning home opener. The final meeting against Guentzel and the Lightning will be on March 11th.
Three days later, now former Canes' Brett Pesce and Stefan Noesen will be welcomed back with a visit from the New Jersey Devils. Teuvo Teravainen's return to PNC Arena with Chicago will be on January 3oth. Nashville's Brady Skjei will return to Raleigh on March 25th.
The Stanley Cup Champions will visit PNC Arena on November 29th.
The season will finish with a two-game homestand that will finish on April 17th against the Ottawa Senators. The Canes will also host 10 afternoon games, with the earliest being a 1 o'clock start on February 8th when hosting the Utah Hockey Club for the first time. Carolina's first visit to Utah will be on November 13th.
The only other note on the schedule is for the entire NHL when the season pauses from February 12th-20th for the 4 Nations Face-Off played in Montreal and Boston.
