The Carolina Hurricanes have used the same three defensive pairs in 48 of their 56 games this season. While the health of their goalie group has been an issue, the same can't be said for the guys in front. The team has used nine defensemen, getting some guys a few reps as a bug tore through the locker room before the break.

For the second part of the grading series, I'm examining the defensemen. This group has been arguably the team's most consistent overall, though the individual performances have varied. Icing the same group almost every night has helped the Canes get off to a good start. Feel free to check out Part 1, where I discuss the goalies this season.
