The Carolina Hurricanes (3-4-0) will look to snap their now three game losing streak Thursday in Raleigh after a six game road trip. They will host the Seattle Kraken (2-4-1) for their second matchup of the season. Here are betting odds and my predictions.

Seattle has won two of their last three (one of which was against Carolina) after starting the season 0-4. The Kraken have also scored more than one goal only twice (both wins) and have been shut out one time.

Carolina has had some defensive woes to put it mildly, huge defensive woes, leading the league with 33 goals against. Outside of their most recent performance where they were shutout, offense had not been an issue for the Hurricanes, tallying 28 goals thus far, good enough for 2nd in the league.

The current betting line, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook is CAR -200 O/U6.5 (U-130,O+106)

The only game this season that the under has hit was Tuesday night when the Canes were blanked in Tampa Bay. Since then, Brett Pesce had an operation on his lower body and will be out at least two weeks. The team did see Sebastian Aho return to the ice on Tuesday and Freddie Andersen returned as backup. I would expect Andersen in net Thursday, and would be going in 2-0-0 on the season and leading the team with a lowly .855 save percentage.

Seattle has won as an underdog both games they’ve won, and lost thrice as a betting favorite. The under has hit in all but two games for Seattle, but those two games the over has hit, they won.

My Prediction:

I see a bounce back game where Carolina skates circles around the Kraken with the energy of Caniacs giving their team a boost they have longed for over recent games. I like betting on Carolina 5-2, but that score making the game look closer than it really is.
