Week 6 of the Club Hockey season for the North Carolina teams was a little bit of a mixed back. Tough loses, and close battles dot the club hockey landscape here in the Tar Heel State.

High Point’s M3 Elite Club lost a second duel against the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Sunday 7-6. J.R Slayton had his season long scoring streak broken, but the Panthers saw goals from Nick Sasso, Logan Kennedy, Jack Martz, Dakota Johnson, and Morgan Bird.

HPU heads down to Georgia for two against Kennesaw State next.

Wake Forest traveled to the University of Alabama to take on the Frozen Tide this week, but were stymied in both games. The Deacs managed to hold Alabama under ten on Friday but still last 9-4. Saturday, WFU bounced back but still lost 7-6. These were particularly tough games for Wake as their club team went up against a D1 team.

Despite the road worries, the Demon Deacons will be back at home in Winston-Salem against UVA on the 20th and UNCC on the 27th.

The NC State Icepack bounced back after two losses to Lynchburg Bible College with a 8-2 shellacking UNC-Wilmington 8-2 for their 4th Icepack win of the year. Captain Garrett Auriene two goals. Holden Kaufman, Nick Shook, Emery Oliver, Caid Cox, Zach Herman & Cameron Lohr each had goals in the ACCHL opener for the Pack.

State hits the road to the Bluegrass state with tangles between the University of Louisville and UK this week.

But things bounced back to the better for the UNC-W Seahawks as they headed to face the Ice Heels. The club from the coast took the Heels for 7 with Zach Schrock notching two in the 7-4 win.

Jack Hughes and the Tar Heels were the ones to be bouncing back Saturday as the split the two game set with the Seahawks 5-2. Patrick O’Shaughnessy, Nick Aney, and Cuan Doig each had a goal, and Cole Kosowski had two for the Heels.

UNC-Wilmington faces Coastal Carolina University Friday in Wilmington

The Heels head north to the ACHA Showcase in Kentucky with face-offs against Indiana, Louisville, and UK.

ECU Club Hockey’s media coverage has been spotty at best this year, scores have been hard to find if posted at all. We did catch that, much to the chagrin of BBQ Jared, the Pirates lost big to Coast Carolina 11-1 on Saturday. The Chanticleers had goals from Owen O’Brien, Luke Kilduff, Liam Walsh, Sawyer Tanleft, Ryan Sheflin, Liam Smith, Cadin Booth, Jason Gratz, and Jack Higgins.

ECU faces the Blue Devils of Duke University on the 20th.
