It appears that North Carolina is extremely close to legalizing online sports gambling. Next January will begin the start of online sports gambling.
Governor Roy Cooper signed a bill on Wednesday and that was the last hurdle for legalizing online sports betting in the great tar heel state. Additionally, eight facilities will be able to operate the sportsbook.
Naturally, all sports will be affected by this as it does in the other states that have legalized online sports gambling.
Many of the 50 states have legalized online sports betting or have proposed legislation. Currently, Alaska, California, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah do not have legalized online sports betting.
It is a big deal for the state and will certainly put a boost to the economy.
