Jack Drury’s point streak lives! While the Chicago Wolves continue to slog out the season at the bottom of the AHL, Drury is eating his Wheaties for sure.

In a 4-1 win over the Cleveland Monsters Drury extended his point streak to 5 since rejoining the struggling Wolves team before Christmas. If you add in his time down from Carolina at the beginning of November, that number climbs to 7.

Drury has slammed together 4 assists (6 total for the streak) and 2 goals in his most recent stint in the Second City. Saturday’s game against Cleveland was a 2 point performance as Drury scored his 3rd goal of the season and offered up his 6th assist.

Somehow though Jack Drury’s point streak is not translating to much needed wins for the Wolves.

With the team posting a 2-2-1 record since Drury returned from Raleigh, the much hoped for climb out of the basement does not seem to be coming into fruition. Still18 points back from the Central Division leading Texas Stars (46 points) and 20 from Western Conference leading Coachella Valley Firebirds (48 points) it is likely the Wolves will ride out the rest of the season in the basement.

Chicago fans, and those Carolina Hurricanes fans paying attention, can take cold comfort in Jack Drury’s point streak, and individual contributions. What will be worth attention is what the Canes will do with Drury if this level of play continues. Healthy scratching with the Canes is not helping anyone, but nether is a 5 game point streak resulting in at 2-2-1 record. Numbers like those Jack Drury is producing in Chicago make it hard to leave him where it is, but Carolina simple does not have room.

Either way, on the ice Jack Drury’s point streak continues to impress Wolves and Canes fans alike.
