The Carolina Hurricanes’ first homestand of the 2020-21 regular season is over; the Canes will travel to Chicago tonight to take on the Chicago Blackhawks in the first of several two-game miniseries to come.

The Carolina Hurricanes are fresh off of a three-game winning streak in which they handed both the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Dallas Stars their first losses of the season.

More from Cardiac Cane

The defending Stanley Cup champions and the former Stanley Cup finalists were seemingly no match for an already ailing and depleted Canes’ squad.

Chicago, at the very least as equally depleted as the Carolina Hurricanes, if not more so, should meet the same fate if all goes well for the good guys.

The Carolina Hurricanes are notorious for playing down to their opponents level, though, so we may see a bit of a lull in the Canes’ absolutely blazing run of form of late.

I, for one, will be keeping my fingers crossed that they keep up the stellar play going into and beyond the first of several miniseries against the Chicago Blackhawks.
