Carolina Hurricanes: One Thing We Miss About Every NHL Team
The Carolina Hurricanes actually miss the other NHL teams in the league
The Carolina Hurricanes are waiting a while for hockey and will continue to wait. What do we miss about the other teams, however?
The world of hockey is closer than we expected to return. Sure, there won’t be any fans in the stands, there will be a long and confusing test and trial to getting back to actually playing, and sure the Carolina Hurricanes will be forced to match-up against a team that seems to have their number in the regular season, but hey at this point, we can only take what we are given.
With almost three months since the last drop of the puck and another month and a half to two months before we see it next, this break in hockey is about as long, if not longer than the usual offseason. That means that we have been missing hockey for longer than we should have ever been.
That also means that we have been missing more than just the Carolina Hurricanes. In fact, there are several teams that we never got to witness play at PNC Arena this season, and some others that the Carolina Hurricanes may go over a year between playing against since the last time they saw them.
In a world that is now full of angst, anxiety, and tension amongst a plethora of other powerful emotions and feelings let’s take a moment to break down the one biggest thing we miss about every team in the NHL.
Its clear what we miss about the Carolina Hurricanes. But what about the other teams in the league, what do we miss the most about them?
Pacific Division
The Carolina Hurricanes only see these teams twice a year
Vegas
Let’s start with the newest team in the league. There is a lot of good things to say about the Vegas Golden Knights, but the one thing we would have to say we miss the most about them is their pregame shows. What masterpieces of fun and creativity!
Edmonton
The thing we miss the most about the Oilers is Connor McDavid and his ability to fly up and down the ice. We don’t miss it when it happens against us, but to watch it happen against our rivals is an absolute thing of beauty.
Calgary
Calgary doesn’t have the greatest reputation amongst Carolina Hurricanes fans, but to be fair, we do miss their resolve to handle issues such as the Bill Peters fiasco well, even in the middle of a winning season.
Vancouver
We miss Vancouver’s ability to make stunning videos that we have seen on their social media.
This is just stunning. And to see former Hurricane Micheal Ferland slam a zombie into the glass like that was the icing on the cake.
Arizona
We miss seeing the Kachina Jerseys grace the ice. Possibly the second best thirds in the entire league. I will give you one guess who we think are the best jerseys in the league right now.
Anaheim
The team that banked on a fan-favorite Disney movie to help bring fans to the sport has us missing the fact that they are still doing that even with jerseys that don’t really look like the Mighty Ducks of years past.
Los Angelos
The Kings may not have the best team on the ice, but they possibly have one of the best teams off the ice. I’m talking about their ability to have a social media presence that can possibly compete with the Carolina Hurricanes. Possibly.
San Jose
The Shark Tank is possibly the coolest nickname for a team’s home ice in the entire league, but what we really miss is the music we hear rocking there over the TV.
Central Division
The Carolina Hurricanes only see these teams twice a year
St. Louis
We miss the massive parade that the Blues threw after winning the cup. Now we need to find another crop top for Joel Edmundson to wear to this year’s Stanley Cup Parade.
Colorado
We miss the online friendship that we have always had with the Avalanche. Talk about real BFFs! If only we can find a zoom channel big enough for the entirety of both fanbases. We also miss how they are not above talking to their fans directly on social media. Also never forget wildcard chaos teams from last season. We are an elite club.
Dallas
Another wildcard chaos team from the previous season that made the elite club. We miss the Dallas Stars’ cow mascot. With Hamilton the pig, we were about halfway to an “E”, “I”, “E”, “I”, “O”. Now if only we can find someone with a chicken mascot.
Winnipeg
To be fair, we miss the Thrashers a bit more, but Winnipeg Jets really did have a way of pulling in full crowds to a hockey game in the middle of nowhere. Such talent.
Nashville
Our southern cousins! We miss the way you give hockey a voice in the south and throw catfish around on the ice. Now I’m hungry for some fried catfish. Thanks.
Minnesota
The trade is still one for one. Thanks for that. But joking aside, we miss watching Eric Staal continue to be the great hockey player we drafted him to be. Tell him we miss him still. Even if he remains with the wild for the rest of his career.
Chicago
We miss how The Blackhawks always seem to give us these great gems of players. Please keep that up when hockey returns!
Atlantic
The Carolina Hurricanes may be seeing some of these teams sooner than later.
Toronto
We miss how we had to beat the Maple Leafs with their minor league team’s Zamboni Driver. Well, that and the fact that they had the sportsmanship to invite him to their next practice. Tell David Ayres that we can have unlimited goalies and that his jersey is waiting for him.
Tampa Bay
We miss how dominant the Tampa Bay Lightning was last season against our division rivals last season, which may or may not have helped the Carolina Hurricanes make the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
Boston
We Miss how the Bruins have helped ensure that the release of the Whalers throwback jerseys would be a successful endeavor. We miss how they even allowed us to wear it in Boston too. Class act.
Florida
When it comes to the Florida Panthers, we miss the two players we sent over there for Vincent Trocheck; Lucas Wallmark, and Erik Haula. Maybe we will see them when playing returns.
Montreal
We miss how the Montreal Canadians seem to always mention us and give us coverage. We also miss how they helped the Carolina Hurricanes get a deal of a contract for Sebastian Aho, thanks for that!
Buffalo
We miss watching our favorite adult child, Jeff Skinner, play, even if it is with the Buffalo Sabres. That means we miss watching the Buffalo Sabres play. This trade really was devastating huh.
Ottowa
The Ottowa Senators is living proof that when a team is mismanaged, the fans don’t show up. It has nothing to do with where the team is, but how well it is managed. We miss the statements made by the fans by not buying tickets to their games.
Detroit
The last team we saw before the hockey world came to a grinding halt. We miss the fact that the Detroit Red Wings still managed to honor their history, show true fandom, and even inspire others even in their worst season of all time.
Metro Division
Yes, the Carolina Hurricanes can miss their division rivals as well.
New York Islanders
We miss our games of tag with the Islanders. Such wonderful games. Complex too. Involved a whole bunch of ice and even a broom.
New Jersey
We miss the green and red Devils alternates that give us that warm Christmas feeling. Even if their moniker is on the complete and opposite side of that conversation, which in and within itself is just perfect.
Columbus
The Blue Jackets have the most annoying cannon in the whole world. But in the strangest way we actually kind of miss it. Just not when we also happen to be in the building as well.

Pittsburgh
Sidney Crosby may have that perfect handsome boy face and the hockey skills to go with it that makes you mad with jealousy that he isn’t on your team, but even if we love to hate him, we do miss the kindness and thoughtfulness of Crosby regardless. The worst thing about him really is the fact that he plays for the Penguins.
Washington
We miss all the classy conversations we have with the Washington Capitals. Everyone remains classy, which works for the team in the nation’s capital city.
Philadelphia
Gritty.
New York Rangers
We are finally here. The team you have all the questions about. What can we possibly miss about the New York Rangers? A team mired in controversy and our current archnemesis? A team that seems to corrupt everything it touches? I’ll tell you what we miss the most about the New York Rangers.
The fact that they play hockey. And the next time they play hockey we will be there to kick them back onto the curb where they belong.
