After an up and down month of February, the Carolina Hurricanes look towards March with the goal of locking down a second consecutive playoff appearance.

Hello Canes fans, and happy Tuesday! I hope this article finds you doing well. The Carolina Hurricanes are currently in the midst of a mini-bye until Thursday night, so it’s a perfect time to look ahead at the entire schedule for March!

Before I get too far into the coming month, I want to shout out another site contributor, Jason, for picking up this series last month when I got busy. I’m good for this edition though, so it’s time for a February review, March breakdown, Hurricanes players to watch, and some bold(ish) predictions.

I can’t be the only one that felt like February flew by. I also can’t be the only one that felt like the team played to a record of 4-9 as opposed to the 6-5-2 record they actually posted. It was certainly a month of extreme highs and extreme lows.

In particular, the Carolina Hurricanes’ February was characterized by heroic efforts like the comeback against Vegas and the emergency backup goalie drama in Toronto.

On the flip side of that coin though is the fact that the Canes were 1-4 against the central division this past month. They were manhandled by the Blues and Stars, and their only complete effort came against the Nashville Predators.
