The Carolina Hurricanes seem to have found their first line, Just how good is this trio and how far can they carry this team?

The SAT Line, Andrei Svechnikov, Sebastian Aho, and Teuvo Teravainen, line was happily brought back together February 6th, 2020 when the Carolina Hurricanes faced off against the Arizona Coyotes. Ever since, the success of the SAT line has been more than any of us could ask for. Let’s take a look at just how much impact they’ve had on the Hurricanes and their success as of late.

Before February 6th 2020, The SAT line had been absent for quite a bit since last season and the playoff run by the Carolina Hurricanes. Ever since though, Svechnikov, Aho, and Teravainen have been nothing short of amazing since joining back together.

When you look at the Carolina Hurricanes and their play as of late, three players that really stand out to most include: Teuvo Teravainen, Sebastian Aho, and Andrei Svechnikov.

All three of these players have combined for a whopping 161 points this season (averaging 2.8 points per game), while also being responsible for 38% of the points the Hurricanes players have tallied this season.

Teuvo Teravainen has netted 55 points on the season, Sebastian Aho 53 points, and Andrei Svechnikov 53 points, with all of them playing every NHL game this season (57). What’s crazy to most though is the fact that they are just now taking the ice together as a strong first line for the Canes.

Although this line has only been together since the Coyotes game February 6th,  it’s hard to come up with a valid argument on why the three of them should be split up anytime soon. Since February 6th:  Svechnikov, Aho, and Teravainen have combined for an amazing 22 points in only 4 games, and the only direction they seem to be going is up.

If you ask nearly any viewer/caniac for that matter, they will tell you that this line has the most chemistry and best scoring talent on the Hurricanes that we have seen in a very long time. What amazes most though is the fact that Svechnikov, Aho, and Teravainen are only 19, 22, and 25 years of age.

Last night against the New Jersey Devils, the SAT line managed to pull off yet another golden opportunity and the three of them connected for a gorgeous “Tic Tac Goal” in the second period to give the Canes a 3-1 lead.

It’s plays like these that really make the SAT line stand out on the Hurricanes roster. I’m a big fan of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” mentality, and when it comes to the SAT line building chemistry together and helping the Canes win games, they sure know how to contribute. I don’t see any reason why Rod Brind’amour should plan on splitting them up anytime soon.

Question for CC Readers: What do you think about the SAT line? Do you think it is one of the best lines the Hurricanes have had in years?
