Carolina Hurricanes Game-Day Guide vs New Jersey Devils: Fantasy, Betting, and Playoffs
The Carolina Hurricanes are back at home after a 2-2 road trip. Here is all you need to know to prepare for a huge home game tonight!
Not quite the ending to a road trip the Canes would have wanted but they return to home ice tonight!
Going 2-2 isn’t ideal for a road trip as important as this one, but the Canes got some puck luck in the hectic metro. While the Canes are currently not in a playoff spot they have some games in hand moving forward. A push is needed but the Canes can still control their destiny.
Luckily there have been a couple of guys who always show up for games, big and small, that the Canes will need to rely on tonight. These are also the guys to start for fantasy tonight, so here we go.
Carolina Hurricanes Fantasy Picks
Aho now is riding on a 7 game point streak, a 6 game goal streak and 11 points in these last 7 games. If there is ANYONE in the NHL to have confidence to start on your fantasy team tonight, it’s Aho.
All of us Caniacs are watching, hoping someone will help Aho, and give the Canes offensive life. The bottom line is, if Aho is the only one scoring, he’s going to keep doing that. If the defense can tighten up the Canes can win every game 1-0, and Aho will score that 1 goal. He’s going to need help to get wins, but he will always produce for you in fantasy.
Svechnikov is also riding a point streak, a 5 game point streak. He also has tallied 10 points in the last 8 games. It is safe to say that Svechnikov is also a very reliable player to start in fantasy, especially with 52 points on the season.
Like Aho, Svechnikov will produce every night, but will need some help. Fortunately both Aho and Svechnikov have been on FIRE since Rod started the SAT line. This line needs to stay hot and produce what they are capable of. They are more than capable of producing more than 10 offensive points a night, and if nobody else will, they are going to have to.
As if Slavin wasn’t the most underrated defenseman in the NHL already, he has a VERY quite 6 points in the last 7 games. This includes an assist on the lone goal from the Canes last game.
Slavin never disappoints defensively, but you have to think that with Hamilton being out for so long, he has taken the blue line scoring, or lack there of, into his own hands.
Unfortunately there will need to be help provided to Slavin as well to seal the deal tonight. But he is going to play another solid game and get at least 1 point tonight.

Canes Playoff Push
As of right now the Carolina Hurricanes are NOT in a playoff spot in the East. And even though they have the points to have a spot in both West divisions, the East is a bit more tough.
The Canes do have two games in hand on the Flyers and Blue Jackets, meaning to win out the Canes still control their destiny.
That being said here is how Canes fans should cheer tonight in the NHL, in order of importance:
Canes > Devils
Islanders > Blue Jackets
Habs > Pens
Desperate times call for desperate measures, trust the process.
