Set your lineups and place your bets folks! The Carolina Hurricanes take on the  Lightning tonight as they try to sweep the season series.

2020 did not start the way we wanted it to as the Hurricanes drop a Metro Division matchup against their archrivals, the Washington Capitals. Tonight they welcome in another team they have already beaten twice, the Tampa Bay Lightning.

This match up will not be an easy one and the Carolina Hurricanes are looking to get back on the winning side of the table to continue to climb up the difficult standings and into an automatic playoff spot. That starts by ensuring wins at home. That starts back up tonight.

The Hurricanes almost came back to life against the Washington Capitals and will look to continue that momentum against the Bolts. So, let’s dive in and make our fantasy picks for tonight.

TAMPA, FL – NOVEMBER 30: Goalie Curtis McElhinney #35 of the Tampa Bay Lightning stretches to make a save against Warren Foegele #13 of the Carolina Hurricanes during the second period at Amalie Arena on November 30, 2019 in Tampa, Florida. (Photo by Scott Audette /NHLI via Getty Images)

Warren Foegele is having one heck of a sophomore season folks. He will look to continue that tonight amidst rumors that Justin Williams will be making a return. Tonight will be another night of him proving that he should remain with the top six regardless of who comes in to assist the team.

His ability to move the puck and make smart puck decisions grows everyday. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him score once or twice tonight and tack on an assist or two. Make sure he is in your lineup tonight!

RALEIGH, NC – OCTOBER 06: Tampa Bay Lightning Goalie Curtis McElhinney (35) makes a save on a shot by Carolina Hurricanes Right Wing Teuvo Teravainen (86) during a game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Carolina Hurricanes at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC on October 6, 2019.(Photo by Greg Thompson/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images)

Teuvo Teravainen should be a mainstay in your lineup not unlike Sebastian Aho, Dougie Hamilton, or Andrei Svechnikov. The last man in candidate continues to have a stellar season regardless of how the game goes. He is also starting to shoot the puck more and finding his confidence in scoring, so thats another reason to make sure he stays on your roster today on.

Have you gone and voted him to the all star game? NO? WHAT ARE YOU DOING. GO NOW! Here is the link. Go vote him ten times then come back to the article. Already done? Good. Let’s move on.

Ever wondered about which player is overdue for a goal or two and picking him up can really turn the tide for your team? For the Hurricanes it is Nino Niederreiter. This man is well overdue and guess what? Its January! That is the month he really picks up steam and starts putting teams on his back.

Expect Nino to really start to add value to this roster. He needs to do something fast and other teams can only frustrate him for so long before his skill starts to overwhelm them. Nino is a solid pickup for anyone looking to add some late value to their roster.

The Bolts are a resurging team that has found itself in a suddenly hot Atlantic division. The Bruins have bled and now its possible for any team to take it. This will not be an easy game. That said, the Hurricanes are looking for some more home magic.

Question for CC Readers: Can the Canes take advantage of yesterday’s Metro losses?
