The Carolina Hurricanes snap a 3 game skid with a big win for a sell out crowd. Here’s who needs to step up on New Years Eve for another home win.

The greatest part of this game was everything really. Winning a huge rivalry game at home in front of a sell out crowd is always a fun time. Knowing that if the Canes win Friday night, they will secure the series with the capitals for this season. Oh and if anyone tells you this game isn’t a rivalry, just remember that you’re living rent free in their head.

On to the next rivalry game though. Tonight, New Years eve bash, offer sheet jokes; this one will be fun. Let’s be loud and rowdy for the boys and get the Canes back on a win streak (oh and get some free Chick-fil-a).

Let’s dive in. Who’s hot, who needs to show up, and who’s an all star.

Warren Foegele has got to be right up there with Brock McGinn as one of the most hated Hurricanes in the DC area. Tallying a whooping 6 points in the playoffs last yer against the capitals and then 3 more last night, Foegele loves to beat the caps it seams.

Foegele’s hustle and grit has been extraordinary the past couple of games and sure paid off in a big way Saturday night. He has been excellent at utilizing his speed and creating offensive chances for the first line of him, Andrei Svechnikov and Jordan Staal.

The points have finally started to fall for him, and will continue tonight. Foegele along with Lucas Wallmark are the two hottest players skating tonight, and it should be a big night for both of them; on the ice and in fantasy.

RALEIGH, NC – DECEMBER 28: Sebastian Aho #20 of the Carolina Hurricanes disagrees with a call on the ice during an NHL game against the Washington Capitals on December 28, 2019 at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. (Photo by Gregg Forwerck/NHLI via Getty Images)

Only 4 and a half more seasons until Aho can finally get out of Carolina, where he hates to play and hates the guys he plays with. Surely this wholesome hug with All-Star Dougie Hamilton is only out of spite and love for all things Montreal right?

Who are we kidding this guy loves it here! Sebastian is here to stay. What would make it sweeter? The only double hat trick in a season for a Hurricanes tonight from Aho against the Habs.

Aho has been slightly stagnant recently but with this rivalry game and the snub of the all star game, Aho will come to play tonight. A hat trick isn’t guaranteed but some offensive points will be. This all star snub could lead to possibly an even more electric Aho performance with no post all star dip like last year. Make sure he is starting for you tonight.

MUCH DESERVED All-Star Dougie Hamilton. Man doesn’t that feel good to say. Just one step closer to the Norris Trophy for this man! And just in case you need some Dougie content to get you through the work day: here you go.

There isn’t really much else to say about this outstanding guy other than he’s going to kill it tonight. He loves the fans in North Carolina and he wont disappoint delivering on his gratitude for making the all star game.

Hamilton has 13 goals and 36 points on the year and we aren’t half way done! He’s going to add to that tonight and put on a show. You can take that to the bank.
