Carolina Hurricanes Prospect Dominik Bokk has struggled in the SHL. The World Juniors Championships has given his Hockey career new life however.
Carolina Hurricanes Prospect Dominik Bokk has a total of four points in 23 season games in the SHL. That is not a good look for the young prospect forward for the Carolina Hurricanes who was a part of the deal that send Justin Faulk to the St. Louis Blues and Joel Edmundson to the Canes. The World Juniors Championships in the Czech Republic has been a way for him to rewrite his story this season.
If you haven’t heard of Bokk before, be prepared to hear his name a lot now. The prospect forward in two games against good teams in USA and Czech Republic has found the back of the net thrice and tacked on two assists for his home country team of Germany in just two games. That has allowed Germany to play competitively against the USA and Pull out a win over the Czech Republic.
Right now that has been good enough to put Germany in the mix as each team in Group B has exactly one win and one loss, including Teams USA and Canada. Right now the only thing hurting Germany is the goal differential. But with so many games coming up, it’s not something to worry about. Especially with Dominik Bokk scoring amazing goals like these:
His role has elevated into that of an excellent two way forward who has shown that he can score from almost anywhere on the ice and also play a heavy defensive style when needed. His face off numbers are also pretty good, but he is extremely dangerous on the powerplay as proven today. But his ability to move the puck five on five shouldn’t be ignored:

Dominik Bokk has been incredible these last two games as Germany tries to be at least competitive for once during the World Junior Championships this year. Another thing to note with his performance is his complete lack of PIM. His discipline has helped keep Germany in the US game and dominate in the Czech game.
His performance puts him second in points only behind USA’s Pinto Shane. Which is incredible to say the least. Can he keep up the 2.5 P/G pace during the tournament and help Germany make the quarterfinals and beyond? Only time will tell. So far he has been the best Carolina Hurricanes prospect to keep an eye out for.
Question for CC Readers: Is Dominik Bokk’s performance a fluke or can he keep it up?
