The Carolina Hurricanes got two days of rest after two wins in 24 hours. To keep the streak alive we look to the Money Line to keep grinding.

What better way to show off the new white uniforms that to beat the original diagonal word team with them on. Well folks, tonight is the night!

The Carolina Hurricanes look to extend their winning streak to three games while closing the gap to the top of the Metropolitan division. Currently sitting in 3rd in the division the Canes sit two games behind the Washington Capitals, and two and a half games behind the second place New York Islanders.

The Canes are 2-5-1 against Metro foes. While the Canes place in the standings may not indicate worries, tonight’s game is very important. The Canes need some divisional momentum before 7 divisional games coming up in December and January.

Let’s break down the Canes new second line, aka the Money Line, and see how they have been and what is to come.

Andrei Svechnikov is hotter than fresh turkey out of the oven. Svechnikov is riding now an eight game point streak and there are absolutely no signs of it slowing down.

The various coaching changes by coach Brind’Amour have not only pushed the Canes to be better but have allowed Svechnikov to shine even brighter than anyone expected. The Money Line of Svechnikov with Sebatian Aho, and Teuvo Teravainen has taken over. These three are taking names with out apologies and destroying the competition.

Three of these eight games Svechnikov has posted more than one offensive point. This young man is a must for Fantasy.

And with him on that strong side of the umbrella of the power play still, points will be magnified. In a single game you can rely on Svechnikov to have more than two points and up to eight alone.

The Centerman of this Money Line is household name, Sebastian Aho. Totaling 9 points in the last 7 games, three of those also being multi point games, Aho is a must for fantasy as well.

We saw Aho struggle, and get frustrated, early this season with an unusual scoring drought. Ever since a couple of empty netters to get him back on track Aho has been a machine and reliable in the offensive scheme.

Do not forget that short handed goals are also worth more in fantasy. Aho already has two short handed goals on the season and gets a decent look almost once a game short handed. He just needs to finish, or Finnish, if you will.

Aho’s speed and grit not only makes him a great goal scorer but a great penalty killer. And he has shown he can do both of those at the same time.

Believe it or not Teravainen has 14 points in the last 9 games. 4 of these have been multi point games. While this might seem underrated, 11 of these offensive points have been assists. 3 of these assists have been on the power play, which once again, are more fantasy points.

If Teravainen is being slept on in your league by everyone, even you, then pick him up and start him. That is 2 points guaranteed a game and a of 9 points in one game which came against the Buffalo Sabers in this hot stretch.

Teravainen is good for the soul, and fantasy hockey also.

While this Money Line is on fire take a minute to think about blue liners to add to fantasy as well. The Canes are full of them, and a certain few are also riding a hot streak.

Question for CC readers: Is this second line of Aho, Svechnikov and Teravainen, the best line the Canes have ever seen? If not, what is?
