The Carolina Hurricanes are hot right now, but who can  the Canes expect to step up against the Minnesota Wild and the Canes old captain? The Brother.

The Carolina Hurricanes did it again, and on the road! Sure there were a few mistakes made here and there, but the Canes ended up with two points out of the night, so a success it is. These are the types of games that the Canes need to be able to win. For the first time in a while the boys are getting it done, and on the road.

While Buffalo did strike first, with Jeff Skinner of course. However the Canes struck where it counted in OT. We should expect this attack of the alumni again today against old captain Eric Staal.

Also in the game against Buffalo, the Carolina Hurricanes core guys stepped up and if you read the last article and listened to the advice, those three got you around 25 fantasy points. So it’s time to look at the starters for today’s matinee game.

Let’s get right into it, and the elephant in the room: who is going to shut down and shut up Eric Staal? Why a familiar face to him in the form of Jordan Staal of course.

Once again a Staal wears the C patch for the Carolina Hurricanes, but this time it’s Jordan. This game is always fun for these two and produces a lot of emotion.

Family antics aside, Jordan Staal has been hot recently. Scoring his 100th goal as a Cane, getting points left and right. The Captain has finally shown up.

In sports you can always count on emotion to drive performance. So expect Jordan to come out on fire today. The team needs the win and He needs the bragging rights at Thanksgiving dinner in the Staal house.

Both Staal brothers have Stanley Cup wins for previous teams so they need whatever edge they need come Canadian Thanksgiving.

We are going to pick straight by emotion today! Minnesota is Niederreiter’s old home and he is going to want a piece of the action being back.

The wild couldn’t find a way to fully utilize Niederreiter, and his play time suffered up there. But the Canes made a nice home for him and he has been able to be a threat ever since coming to Raleigh.

Yes, Niederreiter has been on a cold streak, struggling to get going this season. There is no better time and now, against your old team that didn’t see your potential to pop off and get back on track.

Just remember one important thing. The trade was one for one.

Haula is BACK, as well as fan favorite, Jordan Martinook. Erik Haula will be ready to go with one game back under him. There was no sign of weakness or fatigue in the repaired knee, so expect him to get right back to his old scoring self today.

Nobody on the team or in the NHL sits in front of the crease better than Haula. It’s not going to matter what line he is on today, Haula will make some noise, get in front of the goalie and have a few deflections goals. It’s what he does best.

That and look great. Just look at that flow.
