The Carolina Hurricanes are on a two game skid and need a win at home, bad. We go back to the basics in fantasy, and as fans, on who to rely on.

Well… the last few games were not pretty that is certain. But as Canes fans there should not be any worrying going on. As previously stated, There are 82 games in the season and we won’t win them all. That being said, a win tonight is a must.

The Canes thrive at home with their 5th line being you guys, the fans. When we are rowdy in PNC the boys love it, and honestly, play better.

But on the ice, its back to the basics. It’s tough times like this you need your star players to be star players every night. We look to our offer sheet king, Sebastian Aho, Mr. Michigan, Andrei Svechnikov, and his older brother, Dougie Hamilton, to do what they do best and score.

Alright Aho, let’s do this hockey. When Aho is hot, so is everyone, the Canes feed off of the young buck at forward. The goals and assists have fallen, but now it’s time to ramp it up. Aho needs a big game tonight. He needs to show up even against tough opponents, and even in tough situations.

As fans and fantasy owners, expect nothing less from Aho. He will be hungry, the team relies on him, he will produce. We saw him have numerous scoring chances the past two games, but nothing fell. They will tonight. five points, count on it.

Andrei Svechnikov started the year hot, and continues to roll. Not recording a single point last game, Svhecnikov will be hungry. AND playing on the line with Aho, if one scores the other will assist.

Needing a big game from both of these guys we should be safe to bet that they will connect more than once.

If Svechnikov can stay out of the box, and draw a penalty or two we could see some good fantasy points tonight. Erik Haula will be out again tonight so not only with Svechnikov play on Aho’s 5v5 line but expect them to pair up on the power play, something that Rod Brind’Amour is probably going to put an emphasis on for tonight.

Starting both of these guys: 10 points, count on it.

More from Cardiac Cane

The Defense will need to be air tight tonight. They HAVE to protect Petr Mrazek in net. Between the best defensive pairing in the NHL, Dougie Hamilton and Jaccob Slavin, we can expect a total lock down.

Hamilton went off to start the season as well, and while he trailed off the last couple of games, he knows what needs to be done. Obviously his top focus should be protecting Mrazek in net, but he will have to score as well.

Hamilton will likely not be the only blue liner with offensive points tonight, so here is a couple of other good blue liner pick ups for your team.

These three need to play calm and collected, yet aggressive. They need to play like they are going to produce 15 fantasy points tonight. Don’t be surprised if they do either!
