The Carolina Hurricanes have had a perfect start to their season. Here are how the players stack up against each other in week one of my player power rankings.
The Carolina Hurricanes have been on a roll over the last seven days since they kicked off their season. Four games in and four wins in the bank. Eight points up for grabs to start the season and every single one achieved. The only way this would have gone better is if they finished each of the first three games in regulation instead of allowing the other team to collect a point.
For many of the power rankings of teams that have come out with the first week of hockey in the books, there is little more the Carolina Hurricanes could have added on. Both CBS Sports and Yahoo Sports have the team as NUMBER ONE in their rankings. When was the last time that has EVER happened?
While that might worry you, after all, at some point last season, the Sabres were top of the power rankings while the future Stanley Cup Champion Blues were sitting at the basement, take the moment to enjoy it and enjoy where the power rankings actually come from. It comes from the hard work and effort of this team and this incredible roster.
So how do the Carolina Hurricanes rank against Themselves? This is the tall task I’ve taken upon myself to do. Power rankings are not easy. Its even harder to rank this team of rock stars. Even some of the names that are in the bottom five of the team would easily make top ten on most other teams. They have all played extremely well.

That is just in recognition of the depth of this team. of the eighteen skaters who have played in the four games so far, only a single player has failed to register a point. That is just absurd. Almost as absurd as keeping the previous season’s Presidents Cup winners to only TWO shots on goal across over 40 minutes of play. This team is for real folks.
So how do your favorite Carolina Hurricanes fall on my first week edition of Player Power Rankings? We will find out. Just keep in mind that they are ranked only for their actions over the last four games and they are only ranked against each other.
