Drafting is arguably the most important factor in team-building. Historically, do you ever wonder how the Carolina Hurricanes have done in that department?

Hey Caniacs, welcome to the second installment of my 2010 decade review of the Hurricanes draft classes. If you missed part one, the revisit of the 2010 draft, you can find that here. Today, we’re going to dive into the 2011 draft class.

The Carolina Hurricanes, fresh off a season where they had destiny in their hands; a win-and-you’re-in game against Tampa Bay to make the playoffs, fell flat in a 6-2 home defeat and, in missing the playoffs, secured the 12th overall pick in the draft. The Hurricanes had just 6 picks in this draft, as they traded their 5th rounder to Florida in February of 2011 in a trade to bring back Cory Stillman. Without further ado, let’s get started.
