Our fantasy hockey segment returns this week but with a bit of a twist. We take a look at some Carolina Hurricanes that can bring impact to the daily fantasy format.

I am sure all of my fellow Caniacs are anxiously awaiting tonight’s massive match-up between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Toronto Maple Leafs. You are not alone, trust me. But, if you are seeking to take your mind off of the worrisome implications that tonight has for a few minutes, look no further.

Last week I talked about a few Carolina Hurricanes that could potentially give fantasy hockey owners a nice boost to round-out their playoff stint. Today the focus is still fantasy, but I am zoning in on the daily formats like FanDuel and DraftKings to try to help you guys win a few bucks. Let’s take a look at a few Hurricanes that may line your pockets with a little extra change.

1. Teuvo Teravainen

Teuvo Teravainen is a great pick to add to your lineup tonight. In a bit of a dry spell, I look for him to really make an impact tonight in a big game. Averaging around 18:00 minutes of ice time, he also runs with the Carolina Hurricane’s first powerplay unit, giving Teravainen ample time to impact tonight’s game.

Toronto ranks 22nd against their oppositions right wings while sitting in the middle of the pack when it comes to their PK (15th) and overall team defense (17th). It should also be noted that Toronto will likely have their backup goalie, Garret Sparks in net tonight who has given up 3 or more goals in 9 of his 16 starts this year.

Number 86 is also quite the bargain pick in both formats of FanDuel and DraftKings tonight at $6,300 in FanDuel ($55,000 cap) and $5,600 ($50,000 cap). Turbo has netted pucks against the Leafs in each of the last two seasons and you can *bet* he will be looking to make it three tonight in the two teams’ last matchup of the year.

2. Justin Williams

I really, really like Justin Williams as an addition to the daily formats this evening. He is a player that is known to step up in big situations, and this weeks’ games are one HUGE situation. I think the Carolina Hurricanes Captain will be playing like his hair is on fire and trying to contribute in any way that he can.

A lot of times this happens by way of  goal scoring. Although he has three assists in the last four games, Williams has a scoring drought of seven games, which has to end at some point, right? Tonight just smells like a big game for “Mr. Game Seven”.

Also racking up ice time and being on the first PP unit, Williams is very reasonably priced in both of the formats tonight. He is a low $5,400 on each FanDuel and DraftKings, which of course provides you extremely good value on FanDuel, but good value on both, nonetheless.

3. Dougie Hamiltion

My last pick to round out this segment is Dougie Hamilton. As the leading goal scoring defender in the NHL since the new year, he is worth adding to your lineup tonight. He is also one of the best goal scorers for the Carolina hurricanes at sixth.

Toronto is the worst in the league when it comes to ranking against their opponents defense, and with Hamilton’s sniping ability, could spell big trouble for Toronto and a big night for Dougie. Even if he does not produce scoring, the D man is averaging over 3 shots on goal per game, which guarantees to give your lineup a nice boost in points.

Dougie comes out as a bit more pricy option than my last two suggestions at $5,900 in FanDuel and $5,800 in DraftKings. But, he is well worth the money as having a strong night from from your blue-liners in your daily formats can be the deciding factor on bringing home some cash.

A disclaimer: I am not responsible for any of your lost funds upon taking my advice. Good luck to everyone that puts in a lineup or two tonight in the daily formats and better luck to those that take my advice! Kidding of course. Go Canes!
