If it hasn't felt like the Carolina Hurricanes and the NHL were back, the Canes released the schedule for the jersey combinations. Whether you are a jersey nut or superstitious, it is always a fun moment to see the threads worn for the game or games you may attend. Maybe you want to avoid a game because of the jersey, either way, it is informative and another sign the regular season is around the corner.
Of course, the Canes will be wearing the traditionally white jerseys on the road, but it remains to be seen which color buckets will be worn with them.
The home opener will feature the black uniforms, which will be worn for the majority of the games played at Lenovo Center. The first time this will be worn in the new year is January 4th against the Minnesota Wild. The final time will be April 12th against the Metro Division rival, New York Rangers. The first time the Canes play the team that knocked them out of the playoffs will be November 27th.
The secondary, red uniforms will be worn 15 times this season at Lenovo Center(practicing using the Lenovo Center before accidentally saying PNC). The first time the red will be worn is October 15th against the New Jersey Devils. The final home game of the regular season will don the red jerseys on April 13th against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Now, the date that you all will be putting on your calendars is February 27th. You guessed it, this will be Hartford Whalers Night. The Canes will wear the beautiful, white Whalers jerseys again whether you love or hate them. I personally love them.
Everything is set to plan accordingly for the season, now we just have some preseason hockey to watch before the real thing.
