2. The power play ends the season in the Top 10

This is a bit on the tougher side. The Canes sit 22nd in the league on the power play as they return from the 4 Nations break. Since the start of the new year, it has been abysmal, converting on three of their last 50 attempts over 20 games. They've dipped below 20 percent, officially sitting at 19.76 percent after their loss in Toronto.

While teams will cycle in and out of the Top 10 for the remainder of the season, the Canes would likely need to improve their power play by no less than four or five percent, based on how things look right now. This would mean getting to around 24 percent in the final 25 games. It's definitely possible, given how the group started the season. The problem is they've fallen off a cliff over the last few months.
