For one of the final recaps of the 2024-25 season, I wanted to take a look at some of my favorite moments and performances from the last seven months. There were a lot of incredible moments during this crazy season. While not every second of it was great, the pros far outweighed the cons, but that goes for every campaign. Here are ten(ish) moments to fondly wrap up another year.

Honorable Mentions

First goals: Four rookies scored their first NHL goals this season. One player is in my Top 10, but Scott Morrow, Justin Robidas, and Skylar Brind'Amour deserve some love, too.

Thanksgiving madness: Two of the more memorable games of the season came right before Turkey Day as the Canes needed third-period comebacks to down Dallas and New York in Raleigh.

Hats off to the captain: Jordan Staal kicked off a big weekend for his family by scoring a hat trick in a 6-3 victory over the Maple Leafs just days before his brother's number was lifted to the rafters.

One lucky break: Not every win is going to be a pretty one. Just look at the Canes' win over the Bruins in early March that only came about after Seth Jarvis capitalized on a late-game broken stick.

Mr. Svechnikov torches the Devils: After New Jersey got some life with a 2OT win in Game 3, Andrei Svechnikov responded with the franchise's second postseason hat trick in a 5-2 Game 4 victory.
