The Carolina Hurricanes (3-3-0) will look to end their two game losing streak Tuesday in Amalie Arena with their first contest of the season against the Tampa Bay Lightning (2-2-2). The season opening west coast road trip ends with this contest where the Hurricanes are still struggling to find their groove. The Lightning come in riding a 3 game point streak. Betting on the Canes to bounce back is going to be tricky.

The good news is the Hurricanes have not had much trouble scoring, leading the league with 28 goals. The bad news is they have already given up 30 this season, unfortunately also leading the league in that category.

The Lightning are right up there in both categories, allowing 24 goals which is second most only to Carolina, and 20 goals for, good enough for 7th in the league.

The current line, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook is CAR -115 O/U6.5.

The over has hit in all 6 of the Hurricanes games this season. They are also 3-1 as the favorite and 0-2 as underdogs. On the road they are 2-3. So, where does that leave us going in the last leg of this six game vacation?

As much as I would like to say I am sure the Canes will win this one and bounce back from two straight losses,  I think they drop this to the tune of 4-3. If this game went into OT, I don’t think there is any chance Carolina pulls it out. I think their jetlag will be apparent and they look tired late. After this game, the Canes, and Caniacs, will be ready for the team to return to PNC arena.

Going forward I will do my best to keep my track record and give some insight into the betting odds for each Carolina game. This series is just my guess given lines and spreads and nothing more. Let’s see how we do!
