However the weekend would not end as well as it stated for the boys in red.

In game two against the IceCats of UK, the Cats would jump out quick with 2 before Auriene would answer with a goal making it 2-1. Zach Herman would tie things but UK jumped right back in the lead, then tore off their rear view mirror. This one ended in 8-3 in favor of the Wildcats.

Game three against Indiana University saw the Icepack trail 2-0 into the second period before Nick Shook made it 2-1 late in the second. A third period goal from the Hoosiers would end things 3-1 in favor of IU.
State will be at home against the Tar Heels of UNC on the 27th.

UNC faced the Hoosiers in game one of their ACHA Men’s Hockey Tournament. IU put three in the pack of the net on 18 shots in the 1st. Matt Grady got the Heels on the board in the 2nd and Cam Glonek added a second Heel goal after the Hoosiers answered with 2. After a 2nd goal in the period the 2nd period ended with the score of 6-3 in favor of Indiana. One in the 3rd would leave it 7-3 IU which is where it ends.

Matt Grady would get the boys from Chapel Hill on the scoreboard first in the Heels’ game against Louisville, and Patrick O’Shaughnessy would make things 2-1 early in the third period. Nick Aney would tie things at 3.Early in the final frame, it was O’Shaughnessy who put the Tar Heels up 4-3, but 2 goals broke the backs of the Heels and Louisville would get the better end of this game 5-4.

Before the Tar Heels could slide out of the Commonwealth, they faced a UK team that would put up 4 on a shutout.
