, we have an awesome interview with our new buddy William. He is a cool dude that plays hockey. He just turned 9 this month, and lives in New York. You might think he would be a Buffalo Sabres or maybe even a New York Rangers fan, but he is actually a New Jersey Devils fan. We can let that slide since he is such a cool dude and a good sport for talking hockey with us.

The Most Junior Hurricanes Reporter and I talked with William about his hockey experience. Let’s get to the interview and see what he has to say!
CC: How long have you been playing hockey?
William: About 3 or 4 years now.
CC: What team do you play for?
William: The 10U Troy/Albany Titans
CC: What is your favorite thing about playing hockey?
William: I just think it is really fun, that’s why I like it.
CC: What position do you play, and why do you like that position?
William: I play defense. In my opinion,I think, without defense a team would lose almost every game.
CC: Who is your favorite hockey player and why?
William: Jack Hughes. I think he is really good. I mean, the Devils drafted him for a reason.
CC: How do you practice to be a really good hockey player?
William: I show up to every practice and work hard.
CC: What about anything else, your skating?
William: My skating, those (drills) are really fun. The coach who coaches me there is named Dave. He taught me how to skate, and taught me the basics of hockey.
CC: How many goals did you score last year?
William: I didn’t keep count, but I am going to say a lot
CC: And how many are you going to score next season?
William: My goal, maybe 15.
CC: What do you do when you get sent to the penalty box?
William: I fight the ref til I get there.
CC: You haven’t been to the penalty box yet have you?
William: No, I have been yet.
CC: Do you have a favorite game day food? What is it?
William: No, not really. Maybe popcorn and pizza.
CC: If you could have any song for your goal song, what would it be?
William: Maybe the Pokemon theme song, “I Was Made For Loving You” by Kiss or “Seven Nation Army”
There you have it Kids Canes Reader! An interview with a cool dude your age who plays hockey! Thanks again William! We hope they hear the Pokemon Theme Song a lot this year, or maybe even some Kiss.
