Carolina Tar Heels Face HPU, Virginia Tech And In State NCSU This Year
The Tar Heels of UNC-Chapel Hill have released their 2023 schedule and it looks to be a beaut! Coming off last season’s ACCHL Premier South Division Championship Carolina will face off in exciting games against HPU, Virginia Tech and in state rivals North Carolina State.
UNC opens their season against High Point University in Greensboro on September 9th. HPU is in their third season fielding a team. Last year the Panthers went 14-14-1, and lost to the Heels in their only game against Carolina.
Carolina will stay on the road for their next two games against the University of Delaware and Rowan University in New Jersey before coming home to face the Wildcats of Kentucky in Hillsborough on September 23rd. The Heels will face Elon University in their next home game on the 30th of September after a road game against ECU.
October will start with a homestand against the Blue Devils of Duke on the 4th, then the Wake Forest Demon Deacons come to town on the 6th. UNC-Wilmington will be in house for back to back games on the 13th and 14th before Carolina heads to Bloomington, Indiana for the ACHA Showcase.
At the ACHA, the Heels will face off with Louisville and meet back up with UK.UNC will close out October with the first of two matchups against the IcePack of North Carolina State University at NC State on the 27th
Carolina will stay on the road, but in the Olde North State with a trip to Winston-Salem to drop the puck once more against the Deacs of Wake Forest on the 10th of November. Then, the Heels head to the Lone Star State to meet up with the Aggies at Texas A&M. Before heading home for the winter break, UNC will play the University of Maryland and NC State once more.
Carolina will face Virginia Tech twice (home and away), UNC-Wilmington twice (away), and NC State twice (once at NC State and once at PNC) all in January.
