As you are hopefully well aware by now, the Hurricanes picked Bradly Nadeau with the 30th overall pick in the NHL Draft earlier this month. Nadeau was admittedly not on our radar, but if you are honest with yourself you will know he was not on yours either. Still, I am over the moon excited about the crop of draft picks from top to bottom from everything I have read, and all I have seen.
Nadeau shoots right, and clocks in at 5’10” and 160lbs. Walt Ruff cites sources that he handles the puck like our good buddy Seth Jarvis.
In two seasons with the Penticton Vees he had 65 goals and 94 assists in regular season play. Tack on to that total the 28 lamplighters and 33 helpers he had in British Columbia Hockey League play off games and you have some serious numbers in 137 total games.
All told, Bradley Nadeau averaged 1.59 points a night in the BCHL.
Oh…and Nadeau led the BCHL in goals (45), assists (68), PT/G (2.09), PPG (18), PPA (29), and GWG (20) last year. I am not totally sure but I think that might be just about every category you want to lead the league in.
The year before, he ranked in the top ten among BCHL rookies in goals scored (10th), assists (8th), PT/ G (10th) and PPG (10th).
Looking over Nadeau’s Hockey card, you will see production, particularly on the power play, at every level. From Junior Hockey up, Nadeau is a point a game player.
Let’s hope that production from Nadeau will remain as steady, and the Hurricanes will see him on the power play in several years.
Committed to play with the Bears at the University of Maine, Bradly Nadeau has yet to sign a contract, but the Hurricanes are able to use the forward as needed.
