Beer, pizza, and ice cream are all similar. If they are good, great. If they are bad, they’re still pretty good.  My favorite beer is aptly named FREE brewed by THE BREWERY, but when I am watching (or typically listening to) the Carolina Hurricanes, my favorite is the “official beer of the Carolina Hurricanes named for a meteorological storm” brewed here in Raleigh.

The Paul Stastny

  • 2 ounces mezcal
  • 1 ounce bitters
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • Powdered cinnamon to taste
  • 4 ounces “official beer of the Carolina Hurricanes named for a meteorological storm”

In honor of the game 6 winner, Paul Stastny gets a drink named for him.

The H. Wade Minter

  • 1/2 Lemonade or to taste
  • 1/2 “official beer of the Carolina Hurricanes named for a meteorological storm”

“Your Carolina Hurricanes are on the……dang this is good!” This one is named for in house announcer Wade Minter.

Keep and eye out for more uses of “official beer of the Carolina Hurricanes named for a meteorological storm” for the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and on into next year. I never tire of mixing things up to try.

Let us know if you try any of these and if you like them. If you catch me at a game, and let me know you’ve read this, the first one is on me!
