We are now 10 days away from the NHL Stadium Series game at Carter Finley Stadium. The Carolina Hurricanes will host divisional opponent Washington Capitals.

The puck drop is scheduled for 8 P.M. EST.

On Monday, February 20th, the sheet of ice will host the 10th annual Hurricanes Alumni Game. Rivaled as the more entertaining event in this setting, the past becomes the present.

Head coach, Rod Brind’Amour will lace them up and captain one side as Justin Williams will captain the opposition squad.

It is a great and now unique event with the combination of the outdoor rink and the abundance of old-time Canes to get one more chance to see on the ice.

Of course, Cam Ward will be in the net for one of the teams but I would love to see Sean Burke come back and cover the net.

Some of the confirmed attendees are fan favorites like Mike Commodore, Erik Cole and Bates Battaglia.

Naturally, every Caniac has their personal favorite that they would love to see return to the real Canes team but will take the Alumni Game as a consolation.

Personally, I would love to see the “wizard” Ray Whitney back on the ice with his smooth puck movement and soft hands.

Whitney seemed to get better with age, especially with his success in Phoenix with the Coyotes. It would not be surprising to see that he still has it.

Either way it will be good to see everyone together again and for a great cause.

What player(s) would you like to see?
