The Carolina Hurricanes are riding high off a victory against the Edmonton Oilers at PNC Arena last evening. Pyotr Kochetkov put together a stellar performance in goal for the Hurricanes.

In the prior game against the Florida Panthers, backup goalkeeper, Antti Raanta, put forth another solid appearance in the net.

Still, the Hurricanes were missing starting goalie, Frederik Andersen.

Today the Hurricanes placed Andersen on injured reserve, retroactive to November 6th with an undisclosed injury.

This season Andersen has started eight games and won five of them. With a 2.72 GAA and.891 save percentage, Andersen was struggling to find his form from the prior season.

In Raanta and Kochetkov, the Hurricanes will be solid until Andersen can return.
