Another game in 2022, and another two points in the standings. Yielding the first goal yet again, the Canes roar back as they did in Columbus to score 4 straight at the end of the first and into the second which would see them over the Calgary Flames. A late goal to clinch it and a garbage time snipe were also added to make this a 6-goal game for the Carolina Hurricanes.

This game was more what we expected from the Carolina Hurricanes. Quickfire offensive strikes to put the game out of reach in the second, despite a slow start to the game. Calgary would make it 4-3 in the third, but Carolina would pull away from the Alberta-based hockey club to double them up by a score of 6-3.

This was the kind of game that the Canes needed from their roster. To settle down and into game shape after a long delay due to schedule alterations caused by the Canadian government’s response to the newest wave of COVID-19, so this is the first game they have played in a week. It showed at the beginning of the game as the team displayed a lot of rust and just an inability to get going.
