Teuvo Teravainen leads the Canes through Montreal

On the back of a multiple-goal night, Teuvo Teravainen is the name that Canes fans are singing the praises of right now. A powerplay goal and his second short-handed goal of the season saw him go to 9 goals on the year. He’s currently the 2nd joint-highest goalscorer on the team, a long way back from his Finnish friend that plays down the middle on his line.

Teravainen has been primarily a pass-first player for a long time in this league but has always had a great shot when he has elected to use the dang thing. Now that he seems to be shooting more, TT is becoming a genuine double threat when the puck is on his blade, which makes the team a lot more dangerous. He’s been a good player for the Canes since his trade from Chicago.

When Teravainen has the puck, he’s traditionally looked to move the puck to a teammate and not shoulder responsibility for getting it to the net. However, his growing confidence seems to be pushing him to hammer the puck at the goal more often, and it’s working wonders as he is now up to 2nd on the team in points, and only getting closer to the other Ahovainen member.

He’s been a fantastic player for a long time, and he will only continue to be a great Carolina Hurricane as he continues to be a great player in all situations wherever they are on the ice. He’s been a very good addition to the roster and he’s worked wonders with the rest of the Finns in the lineup year after year as he creates millions of golden chances for others. And isn’t that the real meaning of Christmas?
