Tonight, the Carolina Hurricanes will return to a full roster’s worth of players on the ice as they take on the Los Angeles Kings at PNC Arena for what could be their last game for a while with other teams entering the COVID protocol and having to shut down. It might be the last look for some of these call-ups for a while, and they need to leave the team with a good impression after the win against Detroit.

Los Angeles is coming into this game with most of their roster intact. With the majority of the Canes still having to isolate, the team is most of the Chicago Wolves forward core, but the defense and netminders are mostly unaffected. They’re going to be called upon in this game because they are the veteran core of the team as they’re going into this. With that in mind, we can expect them to be reliable.

Carolina’s rookies were a major part of the game against Detroit. First points for both rookies in the lineup, and a debut goal for the Canes youngster. With that in mind, the Canes are going to need their AHL call-ups to be good again and prove themselves valuable. Carolina’s organizational depth will need to flex its muscle again as it did in the game against the Detroit Red Wings.

In any game in this league, you want great goaltending to give yourself a chance. It’s almost required for the Canes to get a result from this one. It’s going to need to be a great performance in the Canes crease to be able to add two points to their current standings position. We know the team can win if the goaltending holds up, and if the Canes big Dane holds his own again, Carolina will have a chance.
