Tonight, the Canes test themselves with a revitalized Canucks team being the formidable opponent. With the Carolina Hurricanes not having some vital personnel, this is a game that the Canes will need to flex their organizational depth to come out victorious in. With the Canucks having changed the coach, General Manager, and everyone else after some struggles, they’re in that honeymoon period.

However, that doesn’t mean the issues this team had are suddenly gone. There are still major red flags defensively, and the Canes can force the Canucks to stay in their own zone and force them to turn the puck over, it could be a very good night for the Carolina Hurricanes attackers as they try to make their 100% record on this road-trip carry over to British Columbia.

Going with the backup netminder in this one, Carolina is going to need to show up and play well. We know that no one on the Carolina Hurricanes is a bad player, but their backup netminder could use the same kind of help that they gave their netminder in Calgary. When the Canes have the puck in their own zone, they need to play a solid team game and drop back.

This is a back-to-back for the Canes and this means it’s already a tricky feat. Winning tonight without 2 RD, one of the best C’s in the NHL, running your backup, against a hot Vancouver Canucks team, this would be a win that the Carolina Hurricanes remember for a long time. A win tonight could be a big building point for the teams success.

Yes, the Carolina Hurricanes will not have some of their best talents around them to get them through this game, but they are more than just one player and should be able to get a result in this game regardless. They’re one of the premier teams in the NHL.
