The Carolina Hurricanes have the chance to be the first to win a series

9. Brady Skjei scores the series clincher.

Brady Skjei was traded away from the Rangers at the trade deadline and looks to be as determined as ever he gets set to face his former club for the first time. I do believe that he will have his finger prints all over this series and will get the last laugh against his former team.

With this prediction not only does he come out on top, he will be the one to put the nail in the coffin and send the Rangers home before their season ever really got a chance to start back up.

Wouldn’t it be a storybook ending for him if his clinching goal came in overtime or the final seconds of the third period capping off a late game surge?

10. Andrei Svechnikov one ups his lacrosse style goals.

Andrei Svechnikov is already becoming known for his fair share of highlight reel goals in his young career. Scoring the NHL’s first two lacrosse style goals, what else does he have up his sleeve?

This last bold prediction sees Svech score a goal that tops his lacrosses style goals from earlier this year. What are commonly referred to as the goals of the year, this will be a daunting task, but there’s no reason to believe it is not possible.

He is a creative highly skilled player who has been given the green light from his coach to take chances in the offensive zone. This creative freedom combined with confidence is beautiful thing to watch.

So there you have it, ten bold predictions for the upcoming best of five qualifying round series versus the New York Rangers. I would love to know what you think of these predictions and if you have any of your own.
