The 2020 NHL free agency class looks to potentially have a few dynamic UFA forwards available. Will the Carolina Hurricanes be bidders for any of their services?

The upcoming 2020 NHL free agent class looks to have a few dynamic forward available on the open market. Will the Carolina Hurricanes test the UFA pool and sign one of the top available forwards to solidify their forward core?

The trio of Teuvo Teravainen, Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov gives the Canes the elite top line that they have lacked over the years. They all seem to feed off one another perfectly and should see some extended time together next season and beyond.

Carolina also has several depth pieces that, depending on their usage, help solidify a decent forward core. Even though this is the case, they still could use one last top-six forward to round out the roster. More specifically a second-line left winger to play with Vincent Trocheck and Martin Necas.

With bounce-back seasons, Nino Niederreiter and Ryan Dzingel are both capable of being top-six players and could fill that void, should they look internally. However, adding another elite forward over the summer only makes the Hurricanes a deeper and deadlier team.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the top names currently slated to hit the open market and what they could possibly bring to the table next season and beyond.
