With town after town in North Carolina giving ‘Stay-at-Home’ orders, let’s take a look at which five Carolina Hurricanes we would rather be Quarantined with.

We are all lowly getting trapped in our own homes with the same people we see everyday as the Coronavirus pandemic spreads across the nation. But if you had to be stuck with someone, why not a Carolina Hurricanes player?

Now I know what ya’ll are thinking: “That’s not how social distancing works!”

And you would be correct, but for a moment, come with me to a distant land of imagination and let’s pretend that for whatever insane reason, you were now stuck and quarantined with a player, who would that player be?

Ok, now keep that player in your head as we go through the list of players I think would be a blast to hang out with and keep us entertained long enough for this crisis to end so humanity can slowly pick up the pieces and return to some semblance of normality.

Before we start, know that we are working with the most current roster, that means no alumni, and no former players, even from earlier this season.

So who barely makes the cut?

Andrei Svechnikov

Andrei Svechnikov is no longer a teenager starting today! That’s right, the superstar forward is now a whopping 20 years old. He is growing before our eyes. I’m not crying, its raining. Inside. Somehow.

Say what you will about Svech, the russian forward knows how to have a good time and he knows how to kill time while staying in shape and on top of his game. Just look how we managed some good social distancing while continuing to work on his stick skills:

Well now he can’t go outside and practice this anymore. What will he do? He can’t even see the other members of his notorious scooter gang!

If he can quickly find the time to get a stick and ball to practice his sport on an outside lawn, he can figure it out inside as well. Being quarantined with Svech means getting one on one time with one of the best stick handlers in the world and learning a thing or two to take with you to your next beer hockey game.

Just know that you won’t be bored and you just might come out of it all stronger.

Brady Skjei

Brady Skjei is not a stranger to shenanigans. Especially when inclosed in a small space like a NYC apartment. Luckily for him he managed to get himself out of New York before the pandemic and is probably really thankful for that trade.

One of the newest Carolina Hurricanes defenders is not only a guy who can take a good joke in stride, but is also one of the humblest people on the roster. Even after being traded from the biggest city in the world, he still managed to find the time to visit the places that make Carolina beautiful, like the beach:

That is a man who can see the beauty in whatever situation he is in.

That is a man who, in quarantine, makes the most of whatever he has around him. Also, if my memory from Canes Bash serves me well, and it does, Brady Skjei is excellent at playing games. From Casino games to cornhole and even a little bubble hockey, the man is plenty of fun to be around!

Justin Williams

You knew dad was going to be on this list. Justin Williams is the master of fun and he knows how to make fun times out of nothing. Storm Surge? His idea.

Not only is he good at connecting with fans at a personal level, he is excellent at saying exactly what needs to be said regardless of the situation. It’s no secret that reporters love to interview him. They say that the media selects your captain and after watching them hoard around Williams game after game, Rod Brind’amour obliged.

You also know that whatever chores need to be done he will make sure you are doing them. Your house will be spick and clean and your all your homework will be done.

It’s a win-win scenario. Let’s be honest. Because once the meetings are over and all the homework and chores are done, Justin Williams will have a fun activity waiting for everyone to celebrate getting stuff done. You also know that each day will have a new activity. The man’s creative process knows no bounds.

Dougie Hamilton

Douglas Hamilton is a man of the people. There is nothing he won’t do in the name of fun and celebration. Floss in victory? He has done it! Call someone on a banana? YUP. Create a scooter gang and terrorize raleigh with love and joy? GUILTY.

More from Cardiac Cane

Being in quarantine with a man like him would be an endless supply of enjoyable moments. He also loves his food, so you know that yall would be eating like kings. Well kings that also work out and stay in shape. Because he is in shape and he knows it.

That might be a detractor for most people, a roommate that never puts a shirt on, but with Dougie, it’s a plus. You ladies know what I’m talking about, stop blushing.

Hamilton would be the first to enjoy game nights, and the man to talk to about making scooter lands inside the house. Let’s be honest, he is going to need it (although rumors are he is traveling around without a leg scooter or even a boot).

Now if only there was a way to get a Doug Hug without breaking the six feet rule?

Jordan Martinook

This was the person you thought of on the first page. Don’t lie to me. It was Jordan Martinook and that is okay.

There is a reason he was named an alternate captain when the season began. There is a reason this team plays so much better with him on it than without him. He is the heart and life of this team.

He also always looks out for his fanbase. From going to beer gathering with them to tossing a few extra pucks here and there. To sending out cute videos like these:

You just know that being quarantined with Jordan Martinook would be a blast filled with drinking, games, and drinking games. He would make everyday a party even if it is just the two of you.

Jordan Martinook would be my main player to be quarantined with if I had to be quarantined with a player. Who would be yours?
