The Carolina Hurricanes needed that win on Friday, and need another today to stay in the playoff hunt. Here is your Gameday Fantasy Guide to get you ready for a wild matinee.

Friday was great folks, the Carolina Hurricanes really needed that one. And the Canes got some help with the Flyers and Blue Jackets each losing another game. Now the Canes still have their two games in hand and are only one win behind a playoff spot!

There really was no down side to Friday at all, quite a LOVEly afternoon if you ask me! But for real, the guys that needed to step up did, Petr played well and the SAT line kept on impressing.

There were a few guys that broke out on Friday that we should expect to see make some noise today. Let’s take a look at who you should be starting in fantasy today!

Carolina Hurricanes Fantasy Picks

109. Pick Analysis. F. The Kid. Martin Necas. player. Season Report. 88

COLUMBUS, OH – JANUARY 16: Martin Necas #88 of the Carolina Hurricanes is congratulated by his teammates after scoring a goal during the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on January 16, 2020 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. (Photo by Kirk Irwin/Getty Images)

Necas has been outstanding all year but has been on a tear as of late. 4 points in the last 5 games and 2 points last game. Necas has knotted 31 points on the season, quite the accomplishment for a rookie.

Necas actually has 15 goals on the year, which is 3rd on the team in goals scored. He is now only nine points from passing the injured Dougie Hamilton to 4th on the team in scoring.

Yea, those are some super quite stats, and after a multi point game, it’s time to show Necas some love in fantasy.

Season Report. D. Haydn Fleury. 4. Pick Analysis. Franchise Canes Blue Liner. player. 109

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – OCTOBER 15: Haydn Fleury #4 of the Carolina Hurricanes on defense during a 2-0 Hurricanes win over the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center on October 15, 2019 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Harry How/Getty Images)

It is not a shock to say that Fleury came into this season as a question mark. He was a part of a revolving door on the 3rd blue line with the canes for the first half of the season. He has shown promise here and there but it’s hard to really get going playing every few games.

Since Dougie’s injury Fleury has stepped up in a big way. He has show tremendous promise and improvement. He also has tallied 5 points since having to start every game, including 3 in the last 4 games.

It’s time to start respecting the young blood and start Haydn in fantasy tonight. He is going to keep proving himself every night, it’s a good one to start.

F. Chris Paul on Ice. player. 109. Season Report. Teuvo Teravainen. 86. Pick Analysis

WASHINGTON, DC – JANUARY 13: Teuvo Teravainen #86 of the Carolina Hurricanes skates with the puck in front of Tom Wilson #43 of the Washington Capitals in the third period at Capital One Arena on January 13, 2020 in Washington, DC. (Photo by Rob Carr/Getty Images)

Teravainen is one of the most special guys on this Canes team. He can play with anyone but he loves to feed Aho and Svechnikov. In the last 8 games Teuvo has been responsible for 10 points.

In those last 8 games the Carolina Hurricanes have gone 5-3 and in two of those games Teuvo didn’t knot a single point. When Teuvo is going, the Canes will win. Also Teuvo has been shooting the puck more having 3 goals in the last 8 games, something he isn’t known for.

Teuvo is stepping up in a huge way and seems to be notching points every night. This is a great player for you to start in fantasy.
