The Carolina Hurricanes host the Vancouver Canucks this afternoon for an early matinee game. Here’s how the Canes can get a much-needed win.

The last time these two teams played each other, the Vancouver Canucks walked away victorious.

That cannot be the case this afternoon.

The Carolina Hurricanes are in a precarious position to say the least. With barely more than 2 months left in the regular season, every game from here on out is a must-win game.

The Vancouver Canucks are also aware of this, as they barrel on towards their first playoff appearance since the 2014-15 season.

The Carolina Hurricanes haven’t had a back-to-back playoff appearance since the 2000-01/2001-02 seasons. This needs to change, and the Canes need to kick it into gear and start stringing together some wins.

That can all start this afternoon, if the Carolina Hurricanes decide to show up to play. If not, we may be witnessing the beginning of the end of the Canes’ playoff chances. Only time will tell at this point.

In any case, the Carolina Hurricanes have several issues to address if they hope to have any sort of long-term sustainable success for the remainder of the season. Here are a few of them.
