The Carolina Hurricanes are starting a February that has them trying to get back into a rightful playoff spot. Here is what we can look forward to this month.

After a streaky start to the 2020 year in January, The Canes are looking to bounce back in what is one of the most important months leading up to playoff time come April. Let’s take a look at what the Canes need to do to be successful in the month of February.

Players to Watch

The Hurricanes have certainly had some trouble scoring as of late and they could really use some more talent from more of their forwards.

Brock McGinn has only managed to notch one goal in his last 10 games, but his lone goal came Friday night against the Vegas Golden Knights and could potentially help boost his energy up some. You can really tell Brock has been working hard as of late though whether it be offensively or defensively and I really think the month of February will be one of his best.

Nino Niederreiter has also managed to get just one goal in his past 10 games as well. He was even scratched Friday since his play has not been fantastic. Nino has certainly been a surprise this season to say the least, and I wish I meant a good kind of surprise.

Ryan Dzingel is another player who has only gotten one goal in his past 11 games and could be the healthy scratch in today’s showing against Vancouver. It feels like Dzingel has certainly struggled to find his stride since joining the Canes this season but hopefully that can change in these next 2 months to come.
