The Carolina Hurricanes need desperately to find a win. At home, it’s always easier but here’s who will step up tonight.

Alrighty, takeaways from last nights game: It’s OK to lose guys, there are 82 games, but please try to lose in OT or S/O. The Carolina Hurricanes are dead last in games lost after regulation. Even the Red Wings have more OT losses.

Losing Dougie Hamilton is going to hurt, a lot. Hopefully it’s not too serious and we get an update today. Our best wishes go out to Dougie who exemplifies all that Canes are on an off the ice.

With Dougie out and a total 180 line change; do we see Justin Williams return tonight? Does Jake Bean get called up? Both of these are possible and probably needed, but let’s not start them in fantasy tonight. If these call ups are made, it will be for holes to be filled with only a morning skate to practice.

Who to Start in Fantasy

Pick Analysis. Martin Necas. 109. Season Report. F. . 88. player

Martin Necas continues to impress. It does not matter who his line mates are this kid is going to take the puck to the net. He is a wizard with the puck and once his “freshman mistakes” if you will are minimized, Necas could be one of the best wingers in the league by 25.

The goal last night by Necas gave the Canes the momentum they needed to stay in it. Hopefully the rookie got some rest on the plane ride home because the Canes will need his speed to be able to start early and finish the game tonight.

109. Season Report. F. Teuvo Teravainen. 86. Pick Analysis. . player

Outside of Caniac Nation, Teuvo Teravainen might be, nay, is the most underrated player in the NHL. We believers of the boys in red and black know is worth, but does everyone else? It doesn’t seem so.

44 points in 47 games and 10th in all of the NHL with 35 assists. Numbers do not lie folks. More importantly Teuvo has amazing hockey IQ, always seeing and making the smart pass, fore checking and back skating all at the right time. He is the best wingman in the NHL.

If the new lines hold and Teuvo gets some more time with Svechnikov tonight, those two will combine for a few points, each.

37. player. . Pick Analysis. F. Andrei Svechnikov. 109. Season Report

Quite a drought for Ovechkin’s successor: 4 points in the last 7 games. He knows it, too. Everyone does.

Plan on a Svechnikov take over tonight. Anyone can say to themselves, ‘Save your energy for a push after the all star break’. But why not go ahead and push tonight against the Anaheim Ducks?

Svechnikov will put on a show for his campaign and bff Dougie tonight, so make sure he is starting for you in fantasy.
