5. Colorado Avalanche: W 3-1

Have you ever had to play against your best friend? Maybe a backyard game of kick ball, or even for a varsity sport in high school. It’s tough and full of emotions right? Well that’s what this match up was. Well known social media BFF’s squared off in mile high city, and when the skates are on the friendship is off.

All of the anticipation didn’t seem to live up to the hype for the first 44 minutes of play. Then it was on like Donkey Kong.

Avs strike first making it 1-0 early in the third. The Canes just can’t seem to find the back of the net. Then we get in to the last 3 minutes of regulation, still 1-0 and it looks dull ahead. The Canes then proceed to score 3 goals in 3 minutes to complete the come back. It’s not easy being a Caniac, and there is this looming feeling that the boys did this on purpose to play with our emotions.

The journey has come to an end, and while Canes after dark had lots of fun on twitter, it’s time to come home. Now we can all watch games at a decent time of day, win some free Chick-fil-a, tailgate, and watch the best team in the NHL play at home again.

Question for CC Readers: What was the best part about this away trip for you?
