The Best of the Best

Teuvo Teravainen is another player who has a goal and two assists in the last four games. Add in a pair of blocked shots and a pair of hits and you have the makings of our number three best player this week. But Omar, you say, there are other players out there who have three points on a goal and two assists, why is Turbo higher than them?

Glad you asked, he is higher than them because unlike them he is doing it while his two linesmate are both struggling to get things going. While he is pushing them closer to the greatness they should be achieving he is keeping the Hurricanes and the first line afloat. So why not keep him afloat in my power rankings?

Let me Haula at you all once again. Erik Haula has been a man on fire lately. A point per game? Yes. Leading the team in goals? Yes. That has him leapfrogging over Teuvo and into the the number two spot into the number two role. Perhaps he has what it takes to move into the number one spot next week? Only time can tell. For now he has found a place in the hearts of Caniacs Everywhere.

Dougie Hamilton is the mayor of Raleigh North Carolina. You cannot change my mind about that. Think Haula is on fire? Meet Dougie, the only other point per game player over the last four games. Three goals and an assist plus eight great hits and three game changing blocked shots and you have to believe that Dougie Hamilton is my number one for another week.

It doesn’t hurt that he is managing to keep this pace of being OVER a point per game player since the start of the season. Thats while playing defense. Norris Trophy here we come. Unless they actually pull the plug and move him up to play with the forwards as a winger, because honestly, you can’t convince me that he wouldn’t manager to do that too.

Will he remain as my number one for a THIRD consecutive week?
